On April 21st,distinguished professor Wang Wenhua,the consultant of the EU Food Safety Agency and the EU Environment Agency, was invited to visit Institute of Modern Facility Fisheries, WeifangUniversityand Conqueren Leading Fresh Science & Technology Inc., Ltd. Yang Wenting,secretary of the Party Committee of the College of Biology and Oceanography, WeifangUniversity, and Prof. Yu Hairui participated in the discussion and exchange.
Secretary Yang Wenting expressed a warm welcome toprofessor Wang Wenhua's arrival and introduced the school's running characteristics and Weifang's regional economic development, especially the current situation of production, learning, and research of modern marine fishery disciplines. During the visit to the Salmonids Industry Technology Innovation Research Center, the two sides had an in-depth discussion on issues of common concern, such as improving the salmon fry breeding rate, enhancing the utilization rate of feed nutrients, and reducing production costs.
After the seminar, professor Wang Wenhua gave an academic report on“Past, Present and Future Prospects of Agricultural and Livestock Biotechnology Industries”. He analyzed in depth the multiple challenges faced by the agriculture and livestock industry, such as pest attacks, soil pollution, cost increase, and international competition, and proposed that it is necessary to accurately match the varieties and nutritional conditions required for the growth of plants and animals, so as to improve the quality of production and ensure food safety as the core development direction. Through this presentation, we hope to build a valuable platform for deepening and promoting international exchanges and cooperation in the fields of talent training, discipline construction, joint research, and industrial promotion.
